Influenced greatly by his Christian parents and grandparents, Pastor Rick Boda realized in his early 20’s that he wanted to do ministry with his life. He earned a Christian Apologetics bachelor’s degree, then a master’s degree in Church Ministries. In 1995, he and Carrie moved to Oneonta, New York, where he worked with Youth for Christ ministries in the Central Region for 5 ½ years. Then they moved to North Carolina where he was the Youth Minister for 12 years at Stewartsville Baptist Church in Laurinburg. In 2013, Rick and his family moved back to Lynchburg to help his four children – Jessie, Josiah, Gwen, and Jace – attend Liberty University. Since then, he has worked for Liberty, led a college-age small group ministry in his home, and with Carrie hosted students living in their home since fall of 2014. In 2019, he accepted the position to be the part-time pastor at Crosspoint church in Altavista while continuing his LU job as well. On the side, Rick enjoys carpentry, outdoor activities, and spending time with his family. He and Carrie currently have nine grandchildren.
